Runyon Water Shed Trestle
We thought the train left at 11AM, so assuming we had plenty of time, we took a quick tour of a long abandoned spur that was in the Runyon Water shed area and used to be connected to Browns Yard many years ago. Now I had not seen this area in over 20 years, so there was no guarantees that it was still going to be there. But it was!

The road wasn’t here anymore, but the bridge was still intact, well barely.

Check out this ancient relic!!!!
Now understand that these dirt roads don’t show up on some maps. So finding this antique can be a bit tough! This entire area is listed as the Runyon Watershed area.
Next step was to climb over the mound of dirt. From the other side, you could see where the road was paved.
Funny how they stopped paving the road right at the trestle.

WOW! Look at this thing! It has a tree growing right through it! It is amazing that it lasted all these years. I mean this thing was in BAD shape!

I guess because it’s all on private property, no one ever decided to tare it down. It’s really hard to find relics like this still around today! (A security guard eventually did come out and tell me this was all private property and that we had to leave)
